I’m in the process of getting ready to paint my guest bedroom and as I make my final decision on the new paint color, I wanted to share with you guys some great color inspiration for bedrooms. It helps so much to look at popular bedroom paint colors because if it’s popular and a best seller, it’s because the color works well in a variety of lighting situations.

If you’re like me and have plans to paint a bedroom in your home anytime soon, hopefully one of these gorgeous colors is perfect for your space.

Blues
Blues and blue/greens are still one of the most popular bedroom paint colors trending right now. This has been a trend for a couple years now but more recently, I’m noticing a lot of softer and lighter shades of blues trending with gray undertones, versus darker (den-like) shades that were popular for bedrooms several years ago.
Benjamin Moore regularly updates their best selling paint colors on their website, which is such a great resource in finding new colors. Here are the best selling Benjamin Moore blues right now;

Some of the popular grays from Sherwin Williams are colors like Repose Gray, which is one of the best light warm grays out there. I have Repose Gray throughout my home and it’s really a near perfect color with that mix of warm/cool undertone. You can really see Repose at it’s best below.

Greens
In the next couple of years, according to the paint companies color forecasts, we will be trending into warmer colors like greens, creamy whites and soft yellows. It’s interesting to see that lighter green/blues are really trending right now, which supports that move into warmer colors. It will be awhile before we trend into soft yellows but we’ll start seeing the move in trends in blues and other colors first.
You can really see this forecasted trend into warmer green/blue by taking a look at Benjamin Moore’s best selling greens right now (notice the warmer undertones):

Palladian Blue has been extremely popular for many years now (like 5-7 years) and it’s still one of the most popular bedroom (and bathroom) paint colors today.

If you’re considering a lighter green, it really doesn’t get much better than Healing Aloe from Benjamin Moore. I was surprised to see that it wasn’t on the best seller list because it’s such a popular green right now.

Wedgewood Gray has also been really popular over the last 5-7 years and it’s still popular today. Colors like Wedgewood Gray, Palladian Blue, Revere Pewter and Gray Owl are really timeless, which is why they have been so popular for so long.

I just painted my master bedroom BM Blue Heather, although had I seen this post earlier these beautiful blues would have gone into consideration. There are some beautiful colors on here. Also I am one of those many fans of BM Wedgewood Gray. I saw it years ago while flipping through a fan deck and knew I had to find a room for it. I used it to paint our dining room turned music room and it makes me happy every time I look at it 🙂

Difficult to decide which one to select but I’m leaning toward gray on my next bedroom. Posed a question on my FB page to see what’s trending with my followers. Thanks Cyndy

Cyndy, these are beautiful colors. I am preparing to paint a guest room as well. It is small and very, very dark. The trim is Sherwin Williams Dover White. I like these light shades here do you think one of these blue grays would work? And do you think all of these colors could also work in a dining room? Thank you.

Grey Owl is now on my radar for our bedroom! Love it!

Which Gray would work with an off-white trim? All these colors seemed to be shown with White trim. Would off-white work at all. The color would not pop, I’m sure but I need to know if it would like good at all. We can not afford to paint the trim, doors. crown molding etc. Thank you!

I am looking for a paint color for my walls in my kitchen/dining room…one open space. My base island/ cabinet is Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore and my upper cabinets are white. I have a white with specs of grey quartz counter. What color for walls? Not a huge space, pretty small. Since all my colors seem to be more on cool side should I go with a warmer color on walls? HELP! Maybe Repose by Ben Moore, Thanks so much!
