It’s time for this month’s Artist Spotlight and for June and we’re so excited to be featuring the talented artist Megan Elizabeth, also known as Art by Megan.
“San Sebastian” by Megan Elizabeth
Megan’s s art work is featured on our free printable 2016 artist collaboration calendar for the month of June that we shared back in January here.
I have followed Megan for several years now on Instagram here and it has been such a joy seeing her beautiful paintings each day and watching her evolve into such an amazing and talented artist.
Here’s a peak at Megan’s Instagram:
You can really see that Megan is influenced by the ocean and nature and I am so drawn to the way she melds colors together in her beautiful abstract way. I can spot her work a mile away! Megan’s paintings are always so calm, serene and happy and they always make me smile.

“Coastal” Megan Elizabeth
Megan is an artist and illustrator from Maryland, living and working in Brooklyn, NY. She is currently working with Kristen Coates Gallery in Newport, RI (where she teaches abstract painting classes) and has recently collaborated on a line of custom illustrations and paper products / stationery with Mac and Murphy in Charleston, SC.
Charleston art Megan Elizabeth
Megan has been painting, creating and making art her entire life, but began working more seriously part-time about 4 years ago with the help of HERE; a pop-up shop in Annapolis, Maryland that features local artists and makers.
Since beginning the journey, Megan has become a full-time artist last year (she just celebrated her 1 year anniversary in May!) and is loving the adventure of living and working as an artist.
“Alicante” Megan Elizabeth
Megan has developed two unique styles in her abstract acrylic work: beaches and florals. When asked what she loves to paint more, she says “both”. Sometimes, a simple moment observing nature or sunlight is all that is needed to inspire her to run home and paint. Megan loves collecting inspiration by taking photos on her iPhone, being out in nature, and “playing tourist” in NYC.
“Caribbean Sea” Megan Elizabeth
When not painting, Megan is busy raising her little girl, going on dates with her handsome husband and traveling or on family adventures. Megan’s favorite places are the Caribbean, NYC, Montauk, Charleston, (really anywhere with a beach!), Spain and the oceans of the east coast, where she has collected much of the inspiration for her work. Her favorite NYC museums are the Whitney and MoMA and her favorite snack is dark chocolate with sea salt.
You can see more of Megan’s beautiful paintings and illustrations on her website here. You can also keep up and follow along with Megan on Instagram here.
Thanks for stopping by today and if you missed last month’s Artist Spotlight, you can find my sweet artist friend (Amira Rahim) highlighted here.
Cheers!
