It’s been awhile since I’ve done a “Weekend Mix“, so today I thought I would switch it up a bit and share a few of my favorite fall fashion ideas. Here are just a few layering ideas and key pieces that can easily add a little fall pop to any basic wardrobe.
I’m excited to see that cigarette pants/ankle pants are back in a huge way this fall. The fitted ankle pant was my staple 10 years ago and I think it’s such a flattering pant. I’ll for sure be tracking down a pair in the next couple of weeks.
Ann Taylor has a really great selection of various styles of fitted ankle paints. The Sleek Stretch are my favorites:

I also love these slightly fuller ankle pants with pockets and I am obsessed with these Black Bee Pants from Heist. They look chic but comfy and can be dressed up or down:

Of course, leopard/animal print continues to be popular and for sure a staple. I love how each season, we see new variations of this fun print (in interior design too!). I found several fun animal print tennis shoes like these Suede Ones from H & M:

I also love these Via Spiga’s from Bloomingdale’s:

I also love the idea of mixing and contrasting animal prints with fun bright colors like emerald green, fuschia and yellow like Shelby from the blog Perfection Possibilities did here:

I usually don’t get a new handbag each season (as much as I would love too) but I’m loving these gorgeous Fleming Bags from Tory Burch. A bright colored handbag is an easy way to update an existing wardrobe and add a little pop of color (I sadly just found out the Bright Fuschia is sold out for now- but they have added a rich deep berry color):

By the way, Tory Burch also has some really unique bracelets and cuffs right now like this wrap lock one in white:

Even though this one is white, I would wear it all year. I love white mixed with everything. This bracelet is going at the top of my Christmas wish list!
I’m also seeing a lot of fun patterned black and white shirts and blouses. This is another versatile piece that can be dressed up with black pants or down with jeans. I picked up one from Target (that’s not online) but it’s similar to this top from Express:

Nicole from the blog Frankie Hearts Fashion mixed a black and white dot shirt with jeans and I just love this mix for fall:

My favorite trick each fall is to pick up several “cocoon” sweaters that are long and comfy. These are great because they are warm enough to be a coat alternative and they are perfect (and comfortable) with leggings and boots, which we all probably already have:

I found a great cocoon sweater at Nordstrom here that comes in four different colors (black, gray, mustard and brown):

So many easy ways to just add a little extra pop into your fall wardrobe. It’s great to use what you already have and just change it up a bit by adding a bright color or adding a fun handbag or accessory.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!
Cheers!
