It’s hard to believe that school will be out in a few days. Trying to come up with fun projects to keep our kiddies occupied is challenging to say the least! I have a fun (and easy) project for the little girlies to share with you today for making blingy button rings. This project would be a great craft for a birthday party or just something fun to do anytime. What little girl (and big girl) doesn’t love a little ring bling?
The best part of this project is taking your girl(s) to the craft store and letting them pick out just the right buttons for the rings. If you live near a Hobby Lobby, they have a huge selection of fabulous large rhinestone buttons made by Sew-ology like the ones my girl picked out here for her and her friends to make:
We also picked up a package of adjustable rings that have a small pad on them made by Jewelry Shoppe in the jewelry making section (available at all craft stores).
All you need to do is help your child snip the button loop off of the back of the button with a pair of needle nose pliers and then have them sand down the back of the button with an emory board:
Next, add a generous amount of E6000 glue with a toothpick on one side of the metal ring pad and then on the other side, add just a tad of hot glue (the hot glue instantly attaches the button to the ring, which will hold the E6000 in place to set). Squeeze ring and button together and hold for two minutes:
The rings will need to dry/cure overnight:
There are so many endless possibilities with this project and if you’re looking for a party favor for little girl’s party, you could make these ahead and put them in ring boxes. Or, this would be a cute end of the year gift to give to classmates on a card that says something like “hope your summer is full of bling”.
Have a great day friends!
Cheers!
Cyndy

Gosh, I will be making these for myself, family and friends. All ages should enjoy this since large rings are so trendy.

Oh yes, this would be fun to make for ourselves and friends for sure! There are some amazing vintage rhinestone buttons at the antique stores that would be so pretty turned into rings. Have a wonderful weekend Debbie!
