I’m so excited about today’s post because I get to share one of my favorite builders with you; Millhaven Homes based in Utah. I recently went out to Utah to tour the 2018 Utah Valley Parade of Homes and I was most looking forward to see to the Millhaven parade homes (they had two this year). I also had the opportunity to visit with the Millhaven team, photograph the home and today I’m sharing the Millhaven modern farmhouse home tour with you!
I have followed Millhaven Homes’ projects for many years and I have always been inspired by their incredible detail work inside and out of the homes that they design and build. I think what Millhaven is doing is so fresh, creative and unlike any home building trends that I have seen throughout the rest of the country. It was an absolute joy for me to finally see their homes in person. They had two homes in the parade and today I am showing you their custom modern farmhouse.
The design work in this home was done by Four Chairs.
When I drove up the Millhaven home, I pretty much gasped because it’s not only beautiful, there were so many little exterior details that I noticed instantly and loved. Millhaven was one of the first builders that I noticed a couple years ago that incorporated natural wood exterior accents on their modern farmhouse exteriors.
On this home, I loved the natural wood on the awnings over the windows. Also notice the mix of stone against the white.
I also love the beautiful black windows mixed with the white and of course, the front door is natural wood. Such a stunning combination.
The garages off to the side are the perfect compliment to the home and the main garage opens in the front and back for driving through. It’s great for a boat on a trailer so they can just drive through and not have to try and back out the trailer. So smart!!
From the moment I walked in this home, I saw all the little details that Millhaven is known for. Notice the beams and shiplap design on the entryway ceiling. All the main white spaces throughout the home are painted in Silent White by BEHR.
The main area of the home is open to the kitchen, living room and dining area. I love the changes in ceiling height of all three spaces and again, it’s these little details that make such a big difference.
The living room is large and open and perfect for entertaining or just lounging. Notice the natural wood beams on the ceiling.
I really loved the color they used for the living room built-ins, which is Benjamin Moore Trout Gray. Millhaven does most of their cabinetry in-house and just look at the beautiful details.
One of the first things I noticed when I walked into this home was the window layout, which were unlike anything I had seen before. Clearly the goal was to make sure there was plenty of natural light for the great room and I love the way they designed it! Also notice the millwork below the windows! So good! 🙂
Of course, the kitchen in this home is off the charts amazing! BJ with Millhaven told me that they wanted everything to be enclosed in the kitchen area (including the fridge) and because this area is so open, I thought this was so smart and it looked beautiful!
I also really liked the mix of white uppers and natural wood lowers on the sink side of the kitchen. The arm lights are the perfect touch as well!
The kitchen countertops are quartz, which was the perfect choice in this space! Isn’t it just stunning mixed with the natural wood tones in the cabinetry? Also, if you want to really comprehend just how detailed Millhaven is, just look at the base of the kitchen cabinets (where they meet the floor). The cabinets are like a beautiful piece of furniture!
By the way, the floors throughout the home are engineered hardwoods by Villa Blanca in the Pamplona design. Really gorgeous!!
Off the kitchen is a huge pantry and mudroom area.
I loved the mudroom enclosed storage lockers! Such a smart storage idea for the kids! Also, I LOVED the black slate tile in this space. I saw a lot of black slate tile during this year’s parade of homes!
I had so many favorite spaces in this home (too many to share) but the master bedroom is for sure at the top of my list! Absolutely beautiful design work!
I immediately noticed the white painted brick accent wall when I walked into the space. This is another gorgeous touch to add texture but keep it light!
While there were several other bedrooms in this home, I wanted you guys to see this bedroom that is so amazing with the wood accent wall treatment. I love the change in direction on the left side. So cool!
This home has an adorable kids bunk room with two sets of bunk beds. This layout is a dream space for kids!
This is a two-story home and one of the prettiest areas in the home is the stairway. The shiplap accent wall painted with Benjamin Moore Trout Gray is stunning! I love this trend of using dark rich colors on shiplap accent walls because it makes such a beautiful statement, especially surrounded by light and bright white walls.
By the way, you probably have already noticed but the lighting in this home just blew me away! In classic Millhaven style, the lighting was gorgeous but very functional! My favorite combination!
I mentioned before that what has inspired me the most that Millhaven Homes is known for are the little details. So often, builders don’t really get creative when it comes to the basics like millwork, trim work and molding but this is where Millhaven really shines.
At the base of the stairway, the large office was to the left with a beautiful modern sliding barn door.
I really liked the wallpaper in the office and all the beautiful custom built-ins. Just awesome!
The backyard, pool and pool house is incredible and that mountain view! I mean…. Can you even believe that view?!
Of course, the pool house is amazing and so beautifully laid out and styled!
By the way, the floors in the pool house are wide-plank vinyl!!! Yes! Vinyl that looks like white French oak!
The wide vinyl plank used can be found here.
Last but not least, I wanted to show you more of the 3-car garage design that is incredible!
BJ from Millhaven told me that they designed the garage to be a pull through in the middle. In other words, the front and back garage doors open and you can pull through without having to back out. This is great for storing a boat on a trailer! What a smart idea!
I can’t tell you how just how much I enjoyed finally getting to see a Millhaven home in person and talk with the team. If you want to see more Millhaven Homes’ projects and homes, you can look through their gallery on their website here. If you live in the Utah area and looking for a builder or a new home, I would highly recommend visiting with Millhaven! You can also follow Millhaven on Instagram here.
Thanks for stopping by today friends!
Cheers!
Cyndy
What a gorgeous home! Thanks for the tour 🙂
I’m so glad that you liked it! Really special treat for me to finally see their work in person! Stay tuned for more tours from the Parade of Homes. Thanks for your note! 🙂
One of the prettiest homes that you have shown on the blog. The kitchen was spectacular. Lighting gorgeou but LVP in the pool house was my favorite. Thank you for sharing.
I’m so glad you liked it!! I wish you could have seen it in person! Really amazing stuff that Millhaven is doing. Their other parade home was a semi-custom and I loved it as well and will be sharing picks next week of that home. Yep! That LVP was crazy good! Thanks for your note! 🙂
Do you know where I can find the floor plan to this home?
You can email Millhaven and ask. I also have a picture of the floor plan if you want it. Just email me at cyndy@thecreativityexchange.com if you want a photo I took of the floor plan. They had it framed in the home. 🙂
Was wondering if you have a floor plan of the shed?
Love this home. Thanks for sharing! Any ideas on where the lighting and ceiling fans were purchased or the manufacturer? They are stunning!
I’m so glad you like it! Such a dream to walk through and the lighting was so fabulous! I think most of the lighting came directly from Four Chairs store in Utah. You can contact them directly about specific lighting. 🙂
Thank your for sharing. Just beautiful. Can you tell me the brand color of the vinyl floors?? I have been looking for ones that look like European white oak and have not been able to finding anY. Thank you
Just stunning! Can you tell me what kind of wood the cabinets are? Thank you
Unfotunately, I don’t have that info but I thought they looked oak to me. I could be wrong and if you want to confirm, you could email Millhaven directly and ask them. I’m sure they would be happy to tell you more about the cabinets. Thanks!
I am so curious on this cabinet wood/finish too! I’ve emailed the builder with no reply, help! :))
I’m actually meeting with the builder next week and I’ll ask him directly and get back with you on the cabinet finish! Stay tuned! 🙂
I love the cabinet color/wood. Did you ever get an answer?
Hello! This home is gorgeous! I’m using the kitchen as inspiration for my kitchen remodel. Did you ever find what kind of stain they used? I would appreciate it so much! Thanks!
Would you also mind sharing the wood stain of the ceiling posts?
Unfortunately, I was not given the specs on the stain used for the ceiling beams. To me, it looked like a clear stain that was used but you could email Millhaven directly to confirm. I’m sorry that I don’t have that info.
Hi Cyndy! Beautiful Home! I also would like to to see a picture of the floor plan. I have emailed you. Thanks for sharing!!
This is a gorgeous home. Were the cabinets custom built? Is there a company that did them? I LOVE them!
Yes! The cabinets were custom and they are gorgeous. I think they are done in-house with Millhaven Homes but I’m not 100% sure on that. I would recommend that you email Millhaven if you want to find out more. 🙂
Can you tell me where you purchased the light fixtures in the kitchen?
This home was designed by Four Chairs in Utah. They did all the beautiful lighting for this home. You can email them directly for any lighting specs. Hope that helps! 🙂
That is a gorgeous home. You are right, the details make it even more incredible. Did you take any photos of the bathrooms?
I did take pictures of the bathrooms but I ran out of room in the post for more images. The bathrooms were a little darker and I didn’t have my lights with me to really get great shots. I was bummed out that the images didn’t turn out that great.
This is my dream home! Wow! Thanks for sharing.
Would you be able to share the brand and color of the vinyl in the guest house? Thank you!
WHERE ARE THESE GORGEOUS RUGS FROM?! Someone please help a gal out, I need these! Lol
I need the kitchen runner can’t find!
Hello,
I would love to know where you purchased the ceiling fan in the main living room? Love!
Thank you!
I wish I could have information on the light fixtures they use. I love the pendants in the kitchen especially!
Regarding the Millhaven post.
THANK you
Abby
Do you know the backsplash they used in the kitchen above the sink area? I’m looking for something just like it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home!
GORGEOUS!! You’re an expert in paint… would love to hear your thoughts on the white paint they selected throughout? Looks like the walls, ceiling, trim, and cabinetry are all the same… Is there a similar BM or SW paint? Was it stark?? Thx!
Would also love to know the paint color
Love this house and post!!! Especially the chandelier in the stairway…do you happen to know the brand or where its from?
I’ve seen the chandelier they used in the stairway on the website shadesoflight.com.
Yes, the black chandelier in the staircase!!!
Would LOVE TO KNOW MANUFACTURER PLEASE?!
I bought the champagne gold from Overstock.com. Also comes in another size, just larger.
Can anyone please tell me where these wall sconce lights are from? I need to purchase them!
Can you confirm which Silent White the paint is, there is a Behr and a Clark and Kensington Silent White.
Thanks!!!
The brochure for the Parade of Homes that they had for the Millhaven home says interior paint color is BEHR Silent White BUT, BEHR Silent White is a very light gray and this color was a true white. I think it was mistake printed in the brochure and feel that it’s more than likely Clark and Kensington Silent WHite. Thanks for your note!
Very well spaced! Gave me much clarity in my design for our new build next year! Thank you
Do you happen to have the wallpaper info in the den? Thank you! Amazing home
Hi. Do you know who makes the pool house sofa?
I can never compute what to think in my head when I see the picture of a room looks great but when I to to the store of the material used and look at the material it doesn’t seem to look the same. In this case I love the vinyl wood-look floor in the picture of the pool house. But the picture from the sellers website seems just not the same? Could it be because when you get it in a room it actually does change that much (due to lighting or optical illusion or something like that?).
Did you ever find out wood and stain usedon cabinets?
Hi Sally! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the info as they told me it was an in house custom mix. However, I recently came very close to duplicating the color for a home I’m working on and I’ll be sharing the recipe in the next couple of weeks on the blog. I will send you a note when the post is live. 🙂
Can you send me the colors to?
Can you send me the wood and stain use on cabinets too? TIA
Beautiful!
Can you tell me the PMS or paint color of the white Kitchen cabinets? I like that white.
Such a beautiful house! I was interested in seeing the floor plan also and how big just the house is. I sent you an email!
I would love to know what the tile backsplash by the kitchen sink area is!
I love the design and style of the kitchen and have been using it as an inspiration to my own kitchen remodel. Would you be able to tell me what color stain(s) you used to achieve the kitchen cabinet color?
