Every year, I get so excited to see when Better Homes and Gardens comes out with their annual paint colors for their “Color Palette of the Year”. Last week, they just came out with the 2016 palette and I absolutely love the gorgeous color combination. They really nailed the paint colors.
Before I jump into the details about this year’s BHG palette, I wanted to be sure and mention that my latest article is up over at BHG.com here, which is also about paint colors and trends for 2016. I pulled together the paint colors that (according to paint companies) are expected to trend and be hot in 2016; like this Sea Pines I featured from Benjamin Moore below:

I’m really excited about this year’s BHG color palette because the colors that they picked are just absolutely spot on. Â More than anything, I’m inspired by layering these colors either together or simply incorporating a pop of one (or two) of the colors in accents.
I really love the sunny orange with the soft blush. Â Pink and orange are really a gorgeous color combination, especially mixed with grounding grays and greens, as shown in the palette. Â Very interesting that all of their room/design examples of this year’s palette are shown as hints of the pop of the brighter color but the gray always is meant to dominate. Â I think its perfection layered in this way.
I found a few more examples of ways to incorporate touches of these colors.

Bedding and wall color
So many great possibilities and ways to incorporate touches of these colors. Â You can get the names of the exact paint colors and see more creative inspiration for working in these colors over on BHG here.
I would love to know what you guys think about this year’s palette and what colors you would incorporate in your own home. Â I don’t have any orange accents but this color combination sure is tempting me. Â I’m also all about blush and gray right now.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers!

I think artwork is another way of bringing in the color. Oddly, I am already heading these directions. I love the artwork in the room with the color BM Sea Pines. I wish pictures from BHG articles would note who the artist is and where the artwork came from.
