Happy Friday friends and welcome to another Friday Favorites!!
One of my favorite sections in the magazines and on beauty websites is the “must-have” beauty product features. Most of the products that I have used over the years, have come from one of these “must-have”, “must-try” or “what’s in my bag” features. There are so many products out there that it’s impossible to know which one to try. I hate wasting my money on something that doesn’t work. I figure its worth a shot to give it a try if I’m looking for something new.
I thought it would be fun to share some my favorite products for those of you looking for something new. Just to be safe, I am only sharing products that are at the very top of my list. I also would love your participation by sharing your favorite “must-haves”in the comment section! Maybe we can all find something fabulous to try? I am looking for a new foundation and mascara, so if you guys have any great recommendations, I would love for you to share them.
Ok, so on to the products… If you click on the product name, it will take you to an online store where the product is sold for pricing and more product information:
1) Yves St. Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Pen
I’m starting with this pen first because if you take anything away from me today, I want you to know about this amazing radiant touch pen! Especially if you struggle with dark circles under your eyes, like I do. Ok, so it’s a luminizing pen made by Yves St. Laurent that brings light and radiance to the skin, immediately erases any signs of fatigue, and brightens the complexion. It’s really an amazing product. It’s not “really” a concealer, I was told, but think of it more as adding small dabs of light to fine lines and spots around your face.
The pen is more like a finishing product to use on top of your foundation and concealer and its not thick and cakey and blends with the brush on the end. You just click the button on the bottom of the pen for more product. It creates an instant lift under the eyes and in the areas between brows and lips. It blends in perfectly but it has something in it that illuminates somehow. This is by far my favorite must-have product.
2) Jason Aloe Vera Body Wash
This is my newest favorite product and I can tell that I will be using this for years to come. Jason Aloe Vera Body Wash is sold at Target in the cosmetic section and I love it more than anything because of the smell. The smell is absolutely out of this world and I can’t wait to jump in the shower because the smell just puts me in the best mood. I really cannot describe the smell other than it is the most amazing combination of citrus grapefruit and what I think aloe would smell like. Does aloe have a smell?
This is what is in the Jason Aloe Body Wash: “Certified Organic Aloe Vera Gel, relaxing herbs of Chamomile and Comfrey, rich natural oils of Sunflower, Almond and Vitamin E are concentrated into a formula of unequaled quality”. It just feels and smells amazing!
3) Decleor Aromessence Rose Night Balm
Decleor products are predominately sold in spas and this is how I discovered this product. During a spa facial, the esthetician put this product on my face and I loved it instantly and I have been using it for years at night. This product is for those with sensitive skin. What I didn’t realize is that the best was yet to come in the morning. I cannot believe what this product does throughout the night and when I wake up, fine lines are almost non existent and red spots are also gone! The smell is also amazing.
4) Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
This product has probably been at the top of every beauty must-have list that’s out there. I always see it pop up and its why I initially gave it a try. In my opinion, this is by far the best foundation primer on the market. I have tried other primers and nothing compares to Smashbox. It truly does everything a primer should do and more filling in fine lines, pores and just smoothing out for the foundation.
If you are not using a primer under your foundation and you are over 40, you need to know that it can literally take years off of your face in an instant. It’s like silicone for the face and it fills in fine lines, pores and creates a smooth palette for your foundation! It doesn’t clog pores and it doesn’t make your foundation feel thick at all.
5) Lancome Art Liner Liquid Eye Liner
I have been using Lancome’s Art Liner Liquid Eyeliner for more than 20 years. Don’t be scared of a liquid liner if you have never tried one before. Just because it’s a liquid, does not mean it’s heavy handed, especially this product. You have so much more control with a liquid liner than a pencil and this stuff lasts all day. I apply a fine line across the base of my lid and I am good to go. It is the product that I have used the longest and it is so easy to use. I use the color smoke. Black is too harsh.
6) Guerlain Pamplelain Aqua Allegoria
I know perfumes are such a subjective product but if you get the chance, try a testor of Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune -2.5 oz Eau de Toilette Spray. It’s only $61.00, which is very inexpensive for a Guerlain perfume/Eau de Toilette. The fragrance is such a light grapefruit citrus smell that is seriously intoxicating. It smells so clean but not overbearing and it has no floral to it, just citrus but in a very elegant way. I wish I could describe it better but it’s something you will have to smell for yourself.
It’s very different for a fragrance and I again, I really can’t describe why but the ladies at the Guerlain counter told me it has become one of their top selling products. Most of the time it’s sold out and I usually have to order it on line. Good sign, right?
Last but not least, if you are on the hunt for a new self tanner that won’t turn you into a umpa loompa, you might be interested in a post I did a couple years ago for the custom recipe that I use that is two products mixed together. The color is amazing and it’s pretty much streak-free. If you want to read more, you can check out that post by clicking the image below:

I love Smashbox Primer as well but lately have been using Colorscience Wild to Mild. Colorscience Line Tamer is another wonderful primer. For foundation, try Sephora’s Makeup Forever High Definition Foundation

I feel like I have been on a never ending quest for the perfect mascara. I have tried SO many (drugstore and designer) but I keep coming back to Lash Blast (drugstores, orange tube). I always get asked if my lashes are real when I wear it. Also love Nars blush in Orgasm – it’s the perfect touch of pink.
I’m a huge fan of the Lancôme liner and the radiant pen. Thanks for the body wash suggestion. I’m going to give it a try!

Hi Cyndy,
I just discovered your website today and am really enjoying it! I also love the Jason Aloe Vera body wash and have been using for years. Have you tried the Citrus one in the same brand ? It smells fantastic – just like freshly sliced oranges – so fresh and invigorating – perfect for summer!
