My neighbor and great friend, Jane and I are dangerous together. Jane is by far the most creative person I have ever known and I honestly think she has pink glitter flowing through her veins. I love it when we both get a second out of our busy schedules to create something fun together!
Every year, our families have a big cul de sac New Year’s eve bash with all of our little girls. All of the girls in our little neighborhood circle are now 8 year’s-old and this year, Jane and I thought it would be fun to really go all out with a fun and New Year’s table. We usually just pull out the lawn chairs in the middle of our circle and set up a few portable tables but this year, we decided that the girls were ready for something fancier. Jane and I came up with this festive butcher paper tablecloth:
This project could be used for any holiday or fun family gathering. This would be fun to do for Valentine’s Day or for a birthday celebration as well!
So we got things started by covering my kitchen table with butcher paper that we picked up at Hobby Lobby. We taped the ends up and under the table. Because butcher paper has really thick plastic on the backside, we could paint and draw on the paper without the paint/ink bleeding through to the table:
We then took a cheap plastic placemat and used it to trace our individual placemats on the paper with a gold leaf pen:
Each placemat had a different personalized design:
We also painted a banner down the middle with chalkboard paint, which hid the lines of our butcher paper:

We also cut out banner cards out of black card stock for us to write our New Years resolutions on with a gold sharpie:
Of course, we don’t have final pictures of our little party yet, but we are planning on doing our Monte Cristo Bar that we did last year and loved. For our Monte Cristo bar, we make Monte Cristo sandwiches with pre-made waffles filled with ham and cheese {grilled} and sprinkled with powdered sugar and raspberry jam. We also plan on setting up a festive dessert table and I’m sure we’ll end our evening in our cul de sac with sparklers and our little bon fire {I will add more pictures here after our little party}.
I hope you guys have a fantastic evening tonight and I wish you all a wonderful 2013! Happy New Year friends!!
Cheers!

I am very much interested in a 2014 long table runner and/or decorative 2014 tablecloth. If you would please e-mail me with your response. Not sure if you sale to individuals and/or retail. I am an individual. Would love to have a 2014 tablecloth…even to use as an overlay and/or a beautiful runner!
Look forward to hearing from you and best wishes for continued success.
