Our family just returned from a amazing trip to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My husband and I wanted to run as fast as we could from the insane East Texas heat, and we also wanted a fun summer adventure for our 8-year-old daughter. We had such a wonderful time and our daughter instantly fell in love with the wildlife and mountains, just as my husband and I have on previous trips to that area. Here is a picture of me and my daughter at the Tetons overlooking Jenny Lake {Hubby is camera shy}:
Oh, and we also met a friend along the way too:
While we were in Jackson Hole, we stayed at the Teton Mountain Lodge and Spa, which is located in the Teton Village area, which is such a great spot to stay:
I couldn’t believe my eyes when we walked into our hotel, it was so stunning. Naturally, most of the decor throughout the hotel was mountain rustic but this was different, the rustic was uniquely mixed with touches of modern. I loved the design mix. The best part of all, it was loaded with tons of fall decorating inspiration and my mind was in overdrive taking notes of all of the inspiration!
I immediately got out my camera and took literally hundreds of pictures of all of the great fall decorating ideas. From the amazing landscaping, fresh flowers, to the hotel decor, I just couldn’t take pictures fast enough to take home and recreate these ideas in my own home.
So let’s start with the fall inspiration found in these amazing large container pots that were loacted around the Teton Mountain Lodge and Spa property. I cannot wait to recreate some of these large planters for fall:
I asked the hotel who did their landscaping and floral and they told me it’s a local company called Flowering Sol. I could not find a website to link here but I wanted to be sure and credit them here for their beautiful work.
Next, let’s look at these beautiful fresh flower arrangements that are perfect inspiration for fall arrangements. I just love this beautiful arrangement with the sunflowers cut short and mixed with the purple, orange and lighter green:
Here is another arrangement with the sunflowers cut a little longer. Beautiful color combinations:
I love glass vases housing plants mixed with rocks, moss and bark:
Here’s another glass vase with bark and moss housing beautiful orange plants (I’m so bad about plant names). I also loved the art collection throughout the hotel and one of my favorites was in this next picture:
I was so inspired by all of the landscaping, large potted containers and fresh flowers throughout the property and each time I turned a corner, there was something new that was just spectacular. It makes me want to go back and see what Flowering Sol will do for the holidays.
The decor throughout the hotel (including the rooms) was so beautiful, but my favorite part was an area that the hotel had recently renovated by their meeting rooms and entrance to their fabulous restaurant, Cascade. This area is so unique and I couldn’t wait to share it with you:

What I loved about this space was the unique mix of rustic and modern chic. Two completely polar opposite textures and styles, beautifully melded together in a way that it looks like it naturally fits together. For instance, the rustic wood on the walls came from old reclaimed Wyoming mountain fencing and you would never think there is any way to mix in modern but… take a look at the light fixtures:
Yep, those gorgeous fixtures are modern and have an amazing metallic/matte silver finish. The combination of the two looks together is so amazing. The fabric textures and patterns are also a beautiful mix of rustic and modern. I love the pop of of the modern silver/gray fabrics mixed with the rustic colors/fabrics:
I just fell in love with the color palette and the unique mix of this space. Such amazing design work! The person and firm that did this beautiful redesign is designer Kim Deetjen of TruexCullins, based out of Vermont. Ironically, it was quite the coincidence that Kim was at the hotel while I was there and we bumped into each other in right in this space!! It was such a pleasure meeting Kim and learning all about the creative thought process of redesigning this space straight from the designer herself! Thank you so much Kim for taking time to visit with me.
If you would like to see more pictures of this beautiful hotel including the rooms, you can look through the hotel’s photo gallery here. I really cannot say enough great things about our wonderful experience at this hotel and the Jackson Hole area. I think I need to go back to see this beautiful place during the holidays with snow, Christmas trees and lights. I doubt if I could talk the hubby into it but I’m sure gonna give it a try!
Have a great rest of the week and I’ll be back for Friday Favorites!
Cheers!
