2019 UV Parade of Homes Recap Part 2

I’m back today as promised with “Part 2” of my Utah Valley Parade of Homes recap.

I want to start today’s recap with one of the most beautiful home exteriors I think I have ever seen. The home was built and designed by a husband and wife team. Chad and Rochelle Broadhead run the Northern Utah design-build division of Markay Construction. Rochelle’s design firm is called Cambridge Home Company and together, Chad and Rochelle really created something so amazing and inspiring with their charcoal shake Cape Cod style parade home that was such a treat for me to see in person and I am so excited for you to see because it is truly breathtaking.

Just take a look at this stunning 8,767 square foot home!

 

I don’t think I have ever seen charcoal colored shake before on a home and I’m not even really sure if calling the color “charcoal” is really the best description because as I look closer at the shake, I see natural wood colors and variations of charcoal. Below is a closer look at the shake to show you what I mean.

Those colors and tones are really beautiful in person. I felt like I was looking at a beautiful work of art as I walked around the exterior taking each element in!   The other element I loved about the exterior is the abundance of oversized windows bringing in all of that beautiful natural light and making the most of the gorgeous Utah Valley mountain views.

Of course, as you can imagine, the inside was equally as beautiful with huge open rooms with tall ceilings and an abundance of natural light flooding into the home from every direction. By the way, Rochelle selected Benjamin Moore Simply White for the whole home color.

The back of the home is covered floor to ceiling with more windows.

The kitchen in this home was truly extraordinary! The solid marble slab backsplash mixed with natural wood cabinetry are such a beautiful combination.

The light white oak floors were the pretty floors I honestly think I have ever seen in a home!

The pantry off of the kitchen stole my heart and I was drooling as I walked through it and saw all that great floor-to-ceiling storage and organization. Hello dream pantry!!

Here are a couple other rooms in the home that I really loved.

I can’t tell you just how much I loved this home and it was such a treat to get to visit during my tour with Rochelle (Chell) about this amazing project.  I plan to share more of this home with you guys in a couple weeks because there is just so much goodness to see in this home so stay tuned!

Next up, I toured house #26, which a beautiful home was designed by Allison Campbell Design and built by Patterson Elite Builders.This 6,280 square foot home is for sale and is located in the American Fork area of the Utah Valley.

Painted brick exterior continues to be trending in new construction, especially in the Utah Valley area. I loved the painted brick mixed with stucco combination contrasted by the natural wood exterior trim accents. The wood look garage doors (I think they are metal) are the perfect color and tone for this house.  It was so smart to add focal interest to place the natural wood stained board/pieces over the garage. It’s a super inexpensive way to add a little extra drama and curb appeal.

I felt like the interior craftsmanship and design style was influenced by Santa Barbara/California design style. From the shape of the living room fireplace to the tile accent on the stairs, I really loved all the design details in this home so much. The whole color throughout this home is Sherwin Williams Egret White.

I’m surprised that I liked SW Egret White so much in this home because Egret is an off-white.  I normally lean towards Benjamin Moore Simply White, which is a little brighter but with the abundance of natural light in this home, I really like this color a lot. What do you guys think?

I saw several homes during the tour with tile on the stairs and while this is nothing new, I’m seeing a lot more of this being done than ever before. This is yet another great way to add a pop of pattern and drama.

I really loved the vertical shiplap painted nursery wall in this home so much! The color is Sherwin Williams Slate Tile. Such a rich color loaded with so much depth. By the way, what do you guys think of the shiplap on the vertical?

The kitchen in the Patterson Elite home was loaded with some fresh ideas. I really love the added on bar height serving table attached to the end of the island. This is great for entertaining!

The darker wood beams and cabinetry mixed with the warm square backsplash tile added to the Santa Barbara/California design style. By the way, I saw a lot of warmer tile in the kitchen in several of the homes on the tour.  Lots of square tiles as well! Also, notice the pantry door. A modern wood framed door is a fantastic way to incorporate wood tones into a space.

Like I said, I think this home had some of the smartest (and inexpensive) design ideas that I was so overwhelmed trying to notice everything! Another brilliant and inexpensive design idea I found in this small powder room off of the kitchen.  The builder used small very inexpensive solid white octagon mosaic tile with gray grout to create a gorgeous high-end looking accent wall! Isn’t this stunning?!

That accent wall probably cost less than $100.00 to do in this space but it really brought such big impact. It also helped that they dressed it up with a beautiful mirror and faucet.

There is so much more with this home that I want to share and so many ideas that I will share more in the coming weeks. Patterson Elite did such a great job with this home. As you can tell, I really loved it!

Because there were so many homes that I toured and a limited amount of images that I can share on this post (so the page will load properly), I’m now going to switch things up a show you some room favorites throughout the tour.

In the Sweetwater home, I like the kitchen layout and paint color combinations. For reference, the upper cabinets are painted with Sherwin Williams Pure White and the lowers (and island) are painted with Sherwin Williams Acacia Haze.

If you are thinking of a kitchen remodel, this kitchen is loaded with so much inspiration. Notice how much storage is in this kitchen and how the cabinetry goes all the way to the ceiling utilize every square inch of space.

The wall on the left side of the kitchen that you can’t see in the image above has upper open floating shelves and even more lower storage.

This kitchen wasn’t all that huge in size compared to some of the other homes that I toured and have showed you but this space was so well designed that it felt larger than what it really was.

Just to give you a better feel for the space and layout, below is a shot of the kitchen from the living room.

On a side note, I also really liked the lighter toned wide plank oak hardwood floors in the Sweetwater home. If you’re looking for lighter colored oak hardwoods, these floors in person seriously took my breath away. They didn’t have a strong undertone, lighter in color and beautiful wood tones. They are made by Hallmark here.

Such a beautiful home, especially the kitchen and floors!

House #8, which was built by Green Tech Construction was another beautiful home. I especially loved the fun color pop in the office!

The great room of the Green Tech home had beautiful lines and I loved how they painted the beams in a light gray instead of staining. Different from what I had been seeing.

The master bathroom in this home was soon serene and beautiful. I wasn’t able to confirm the paint color but I feel confident that it’s Sherwin Williams Healing Aloe.
